Endurance Quest 2012 in Western Nyland

The 2012 edition of Endurance Quest will take the racers to the beautiful archipelago in the Gulf of Finland, bluewater lakes and forests of national parks. Finland is well known of its unspoiled nature, thousands of lakes and islands. Racers will experience local culture through significant and exciting places such as the historical King's road, old castles and ironworks villages.

Exact race locations such a start, TA:s and finish area will be published in June 2012. 

Race is held in Western Nyland, which is close to capital of Finland, Helsinki. In the western most  point for the race is going to be Salo. In north the nothest place is Nurmijärvi. In the southern part of the race in the unique Finnish archipelago we have some outstanding lighthouses to be explore. We'll see what the course designer will create for racers...

The race course will cover about 600 km and will include probably more disciplines than any other race in the world. There will be disciplines such as: running, mountainbiking, kayaking, canoeing, kickbiking, ropes, coastaleering, rowing, packrafting, inline skating, sailing and secret disciplines.

Where and how

The race location is in Western Nyland near Helsinki. Transport is included in the entry fee for the foreign teams from Helsinki airport and harbour to race HQ.

The race is open to mixed 4 persons teams. The race will be un-supported, no support teams allowed. Any kind of outside help during the race is prohibited and will lead to penalty or disqualification. 

Registration fee

2000 Euros until 31 of March 2012. After that 2600 Euros until 1 of July 2012.

3-4 days (65-95 hours)

Prizes

Total value of prizes will be around 10 000 Euros. Winning team will recive free entry to Adventure Race World Championships held in France 2012. Second place will secure a place to the race. Prize money will be delivered if there will be minimum of 15 teams taking part.

Meeting Point

Will be published later during the spring 2012. Place is maximum 100km from Helsinki airport and harbour. There will be pickup for international teams to HQ.
